The Astrophysical validation begins!

The formal ceremony of inauguration has been a great success for all the public. But it also sign the starting point of the real Astronomical Validation (AV) of all the SRT receivers and backend.

The important task is in charge of the AV Team which includes staff and post-doc from the Institute of Radioastronomy, the Cagliari Astronomical Observatory and the Arcetri Observatory, coordinated by the Project Scientist Isabella Prandoni.

Even with limited resorces, and though the use of the telescope is not regularly granted at night, SRT is opened to Target of Opportunity (TOO) projects during the science validation time. Proposals can be emailed to the Project Scientist Isabella Prandoni (prandoni@ira.inaf.it) or to the SRT Director Nichi D’Amico (damico@oa-cagliari.inaf.it).
